The file contains a Workbook_Open VBA macro that uses Wscript.Shell to execute a batch file located at 'c:\programdata\jledshf.bat'. The macro also attempts to download and execute a DLL from a series of concatenated URLs, which are reconstructed as 'http://monequuot.ja.deal.com/assets/jcWxvUSPE7VhWxJ/http://vestaseguridab.com.ar/wp-content/7JD9gufnwG/,https://mail.rededucacionvirtual.com/wp-incledes/BqJi1K/,http://veluxcucumberapivaves.oribitalwave.it/assets/W9Kfk84'. This behavior is characteristic of Emotet downloaders, which are designed to fetch and execute further stages of malware. The ClamAV detection ID further supports this attribution.

    Workbook_Open macro
  • CreateObject call high OLE_VBA_CREATEOBJ
    CreateObject call
  • VBA p-code auto-exec with execution tokens high OLE_VBA_PCODE_AUTOEXEC_EXEC
Compiled VBA/cache stream contains an auto-execution token together with shell/download/object-execution tokens. This catches p-code-only or source-extraction-failure macro documents where visible source is unavailable.
  • Suspicious extracted artifact high EXTRACTED_FILE_STATIC_TRIAGE
One or more files extracted from inside this sample matched static suspicious-content checks such as script obfuscation, encoded payload blobs, packed data, or execution/download terms.
  • VBA macros detected medium OLE_VBA_MACROS
